Over 60 years of tradition

History
The Franco family has been linked to coking coal industry over 60 years. Mr Mario Franco, founder of the dinasty, was a pioneer of coal extraction and comercialization in Samacá (Colombia) in the 50’s. After it, he was dedicated to coking coal, because of the growing steel industry in the region.

After Mr Mario’s death, his son Germán, metallurgical engineer, continued with Mr Mario’s legacy. He has devoted over 40 years to produce and comercialize met coke with specific uses inside the steel industry and other related industries.

Now, the company has different clients in Colombia, with trade relationships since 20 years ago, like Gerdau Diaco. We deliver a differenciate product, that accomplish with exigent technical requirements. Moreover, the company is regionally well-recognized because its innovative coal mixing capacity that lets to continuous processes and quality improvement. Indeed we want to maximize our product’s additonal value facing our clients needs.
